Having your own business is often stressful, demanding and potentially overwhelming.

So, if you’re going to put in all that effort, don’t forget to have some fun while you’re at it!

Here are some ideas, in no particular order:

  • create fun workspaces
  • throw mini-parties
  • consciously enjoy your breaks
  • eat lunch with fun people
  • surprise people with good things
  • give compliments – lots of them
  • do the unexpected
  • dance a jig, in front of others
  • take breaks
  • schedule meetings somewhere fun
  • laugh
  • smile, on purpose
  • celebrate occasions – birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
  • shake hands vigorously
  • collect and tell jokes
  • celebrate successes – even small ones
  • have fun competitions
  • make friends – with coworkers and customers
  • play pranks
  • share your personal life
  • be bold
  • create workplace raps, rhymes or songs
  • hug people
  • have retreats
  • hold teambuilding events
  • be yourself

Please use the comments and add to the list. We need all the suggestions we can get!

Yes, sometimes fun is just a ‘choice’ away from us. Thanks for pitching in.
