familyA recent study in the Journal of Marriage and the Family reports that the increased involvement of fathers in families (studied through enrolling fathers and mothers together in a 16-week program) has significant benefits:

- children much less likely to show signs of depression, anxiety and hyperactivity
- children both less aggressive and less withdrawn
- decrease in parenting stress
- increase in quality of parent relationships

And a great quote from Dr. Kyle Pruett, clinical professor of psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine and a co-author of the study:

“The research is clear that the best way to create a healthy environment for children is to engage dads and moms together.”
