My Path To Becoming A Success Coach

Over the last 15 years I have held various positions in sales and management roles.

Over time I realized a common theme in most of my jobs: I loved working with the leaders in each company I worked for! Along with my normal duties in each job, I would find myself in coaching relationships with my employers, helping them achieve clarity and sort through organizational, management and even personal issues.

Interested in the topics of psychology and self-improvement, I returned to school and obtained a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology in 2008.

It was during my studies that I became aware of the positive psychology movement (initiated by Dr. Martin Seligman), which is the foundation of the current Life Coaching career.

Upon completing my training (covering topics such as psychological theories, counseling skills and family system dynamics, to name a few) and saw that the skills used in Therapy and Counseling would be powerful when applied to work as a Life Coach, supplying a deeper level of psychological understanding and comprehension than some “life coach” training programs can offer.

Being a Success Coach is a fantastic combination of graduate training and my personal interests with the best part of past work experiences! It’s truly a dream job to be able to help others in this way.

As is my own experience, many men end up living life by ‘accident,’ falling into careers they aren’t passionate about and ending up in maladaptive patterns. It takes a shift to begin deciding what you really want and figuring out how to get it
